  • Visas F1 - B2

A German citizen applied for and was granted two Visas by the
American Embassy before coming to this country. One is the F1,
student visa, as he was studying English at a language school in
Santa Barbara, CA. The other is the B2, visitor/tourist visa which is
intended to be valid through the rest of his stay in the US.
(Evidently, the student visa would expire 60 days after the end of
his language course, so the visitor visa would be appropriate for the
additional 30 days he is staying here.)

My question is, since he has both valid visas is there anything he
must do in order to 'convert' from one to the other? Upon entering
this country, his student visa was stamped. It seems to me that he
would not have to do anything additional, but I did want to check
    with you to be sure.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your help.

He will have to leave the US and reenter with B2.
