F1 Visa Port of entry

Hi,

I am a student going on a F1 Visa to the US. My university is in Pittsburgh. I am planning to make 2 stopovers - 1 in san francisco (for 7 days) and the other in seattle (another 7 days)- before going to pittsburgh.

Can somebody let me know if there is a problem if I do this way? I heard from my friends who went on H1B visa faced some issues regarding port of entry. Just wondering if I might get into any kind of trouble. Does it help if I make prior flight bookings till the final destination - pittsburgh??

I saw that in the I-94 form (that we need to fill before immigration) we need to specify the address in the US. for this should I give the university address or the temporary stay address of my relative in san francisco (port of entry)
