SSN delay

HI..I have a long name ..say first name as "A B C" and last name as "X". While entering my details in i-94, as my complete name cant fit in the form, i have entered "A B" as first name and "X" as last name. I applied for SSN 3 weeks back with "A B" as first name, "X" as last name and "C" as middle name. Now I am told by SSA that there is a mismatch in my name and hence the delay for assigning the SSN.

Passport
--------
First Name = A B C
Last Name = X


Visa
----
First Name = A B C
Last Name = X


I-94
--------
First Name = A B
Last Name = X


SSN Application
--------
First Name = A B
Middle Name = C
Last Name = X


As you can see, passport and visa has correct entries. I-94 has shorter version as the complete name doesnt fit there. To match the I-94's entry, I broke the complete name into first name and middle name in SSN application.

Please tell me how to proceed now? I am in deep trouble.
