221g additional processing time.

Hellow guys, I am sajib from bangladesh. My wife is an US citizen and she is the petitioner for my immigrant visa. My interview was on 20th december in dhaka embassy and after the initial interview the visa officer kept my passport and gave me a blue 221g page and told me to return a answer sheet to some questionnaire so that they can do some additional processing. They told me that they will call me after the additional processing is done. On 21st of december I submit questionnaire page answering all the 10 questionnaire. I asked them when can I receive an update from them but they refuse to give me any exact date. So, does anyone knows , how much time does it take for this additional processing to complete. Its been 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything from the dhaka embassy.

I am DV applicant .I am also going through the same process. My interview date was 11th January. Interview was good . and I am waiting for that call. They keep my passport. Have I any possibilities to get visa?

Whats the status of your husband? did he get call from Embassy yet? Please update us when he gets the call and VISA.....because I am also one of you...I had my interview on 6th March 2012 and received blue sheet... I am really concerned when do I get their call?

Hi, i am a u.s. citizen who filed for my husband for an IV visa and his interview was on nov.12 2012. For those of you facing the nightmare of 221(g) sheet, i want to share my experience. During my husband's interview, the consular office said all file and all the documents were perfect, yet we got the 221(g). Since then we have been going out of our mind what to do, we were told normal wait time for the processing to be done is within 60 days. Today, dec.10 2012, my husband received call from embassy saying our processing is complete and to come pick up his visa on the specified date.

What i did was email the dhaka embassy once or twice a week and called the DOS office from new york to get an update on the case status. I would suggest anyone who is in this category urge their spouse living abroad to do the same, and pray as hard as you can and just keep patient. We received our call 28 days after initial interview so there is hope. Best of luck everyone
