  • PIO Endorsement with a Damaged Canadian Passport

    Hi All,

I apologise in advance for this long query.

My Canadian passport was recently damaged as a result of a heater burst in my room. The PIO card however, survived the damage. I went in to get my Canadian passport renewed but I had to surrender the passport for security issues.

Now, the last time I had to get an endorsement done with my new Canadian passport(Toronto), they wanted me to show my old passport, which in this case had to be surrendered. I do not have any copies of that passport either as I was unaware that it would be taken away. I do however still have the passport with which the PIO card was first issued.

Does anyone know what will be the procedure to get an endorsement this time around? I asked the passport office if they could give me a letter saying that my old passport was damaged and they said that they couldn't. I will most likely have to go to the CGI in Vancouver as I am in Calgary at the moment.

Thank you in advance for your responses. Cheers!
