  • Ok to send docs to USCIS without them asking?

I applied for change of status from H1 to F1. But I only made a statement about returning home in a letter I sent the second time (I had an RFE).
I did not mention it first time in my original letter because I thought it was a given that I will return after F1. But now going through different threads it looks like there is a strong chance of refusal of my F1 because I did not attach any documentation confirming my ties to my country.

    1) Can I send any documents now, while my case is in-process, without USCIS asking about it?
    2) What documents can I show if I don't have any property in my own name in my country? I have been in the US for about ten years.
    3) Do people usually get RFE for not showing ties to home country, or do they simply get a rejection?

    Please reply.
