Default F1 Visa - URGENT help

    Hi

My F1 visa expired 1 yr back. i have scheduled an appointment at mumbai consulate in august. My parents are green card holders here in US. My mom had filed immigrant application for me 2 years back. Now in the DS-156 Visa form which i need to send to the consulate, they ask if anyone have filed immigrant status? and also if anyone of relatives or parents have US citizenship? I am confused if I should say YES or NO to the above questions. If i say YES will my Visa would be at stake?

I am doing PhD currently with full scholarship. I need to furnish the above info ASAP. So kind help from anyone is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Default b1 to f1

This is to address jadanki's inquiry re F1. This is too also my problem. I am on a b1 currently and was only granted 3 mos. but i filed for an extension. but then the lawyer advised me(i am already complete w/ all the papers for F1),it wil be useless because even if i file it and attach the extension copy for my F1,it will take more than 90 days for it to be processed by USCIS.by the time i receive the decision, classes already started and i m out of status. The option he gave me(lawyer)was to go home which is definitely not an option i m taking. i know that if you apply for F1 on your home country, your multiple visa will be revoked and F1 rejected. might as well play my cards here.
