  • PIO or Indian Visa

    Hi,
i'm on H1b visa,We are planning to move back to India for good with our infant on March 24th,2011. she got her US passport and now planning to apply PIO card.
but i read some latest news in Website saying that currentely SFO Consulate outsourced issuing PIO cards to Tra-visa and they are starting this service from MArch 8th.
if we apply by MArch 8th,we may not get PIO by MArch 24th so i'm planning to apply indian Visa for my baby girl.

    1. What kind of Visa has to be applied? Tourist or entry visa ?

    2. Is the tourist visa enough to travel and stay in India and later apply for the PIO card from there?

    3. If we apply in-person in SFO Consulate, do they really give the visa or PIO card on the same day ?

If there is any other method for faster process of geting PIO card or Visa.please let me know.

    Thank you so much.
