Shipping to India using Transfer of Residence

Hi All,

This is my case:

I am on H1 and my wife is on H4. My wife and kids are in India and plan to stay there for a year or over. I am planning to travel back and forth to India during this period while working for the same US company remotely while in India.

My question:
We have some household goods(clothes, utensils, toys) that i want to ship to India. Can i use the Transfer of Residence? Will there be any issue if there is Transfer of Residence stamp on my passport, as i will be traveling back to US? This is very urgent. Appreiate all the inputs.

Thanks for your reply. Since i am shipping only used clothes, utensils, toys, can i opt not to avail the TOR. Since these are used items, there is no duty anyway.

Is TOR mandatory or can we opt not to avail TOR? Please let me know.
