Travel To INDIA on F-1 Visa While OPT is in Processing

Hi Every One,

I am doing Masters and will be graduating in May 2011. Official Graduation date is 18th May. Graduation Ceremony is on May 13th. I applied for OPT and start date of my OPT is May 19th.
At this point, I am planning to go to India in April 3rd week and come back to US on May 12th(technically before my graduation walk and OPT start date). At this point I am not sure I will get my EAD card while I return. But I do have an offer letter from the company where I am doing Internship for an year and I-20 showing that I applied for OPT. My Visa is good for two more years.

Is it fine, If I plany my travel to INDIA??

I will be greatfull to everyone who can share their experiences or suggestions.

Your plan seems fine. Carry your OPT application receipt with you. Read F student FAQ on ICE website and carry a printout with you.
