  • Reg: F2 to F1 change of status

    Hi,

I am in F2 visa for past 6 months and want to change it to F1. I have got admission for MBA Fall 2011 and planning to go for COS (change of Status) to F1 in the last week of June. Do you think 45 days is sufficient to get my COS approved or is it better to go to India for visa stamping?

Also, can some one tell me how many months did it take for them to get COS approved? Please help me in this.

    Thanks

    F2 to F1

    Hello ,

First congratulations on your admission ! I applied for the I-539 change from F2 to F1 in May 12th at Vermont center and still under processing . My school already started in June 20th ,so I had to postpon to Fall .I talked to USCIS and was told they are currently working on February cases . Usually it takes up to 2months and a half in California center , but in Vermont they are beyond that limit . Which center you are applying to ? You must ask your school as each state follows one center . Better you be hurry and mail them your application .

I wish you all the best !
