Applying greencard on family based for H1-B cadidate.

Hi,
I am on H1-B and my wife is having greencard. I am planning to apply greencard in family category as my wife is having GC. Right now my wife has her family name in her passport and her GC renewal is very near,so i am planning to change my wife's last name to my last name in her passport, so that when she gets her renewed GC it would have same last names. Would this in anyway will help(or have advantage) me in my GC process if i apply in family category.

Please give your advice/suggestion.
