had interview, got RFE and im still pending close to a yr!

Hello everyone!

We started this process last summer, and we had the interview last November 2010. The interview went well, my hubby and i were asked several questions and we were requested server documents. I didn’t have with me that day, the original of my Birth Certificate as I left it inside the copy machine. I had 2 copies with me but she wanted to see the original. I asked the IO if she wanted us to comeback with the original, we live really close to the center, but she said we would get a notification on the mail. To wait for that. After 6 months we finally got a RFE but they just requested everything else (photos, bank statements, checks signed by both of us, affidavits, credit cards, insurances, taxes and W2). We submitted the evidences back in may of this yr and I still have not heard anything else from them. No updates on the website - nothing. I only know that they received my documentation bc of the tracking from fedex. But it is driving us crazy this waiting and waiting… And from what I have heard and gathered from other post – normally - it doesn’t take this long… any thoughts?

You need to call USCIS and see what is going on. YOU need to speak to someone higher than the person that answers the phone . Or make an info pass and go to your local USCIS centre and see what is going on. I agree this is crazy and should not take this long if you have sent back all documents asked for. When you go for info pass take your original BC with you so they can site it. Make a copy as well and have it certified or notarised. Good luck
