H1 to dependent visa while I-485 is pending

I am currently working on an H1B visa, but my spouse's I-140 has been approved, and the I-485 is being filed this week. Is it okay if I leave my job and apply for a dependent visa after I-485 is filed? Are there things I need to worry about in this scenario?

As long as your spouse is maintaining the H1B status, you can apply for H4.
