H4 to F1 conversion RFE

I have been going to school for an over year on H4, I applied for change of status to F1
two and half moths back, I got an RFE yesterday.

I have assistantship from college I need the status with in two weeks of time, Can I take a chance of going out of country to CANADA to get F1 stamped. I've valid H4 for 2 years. If any problem on F1 stamped. I could still get in with H4 status?

GURU's please help if anybody has any experience.

You can try to apply for F1 Visa in your home country. There is always a small denial risk associated with F1 Visa. If you can respond to the RFE there is a much higher chance that change of status will be granted. Even if you can't accept the assistantship, they may be able to give it to you after some time or so. Check that possibility.
