alternate chargeability

Hi all,
I have question to ask,can someone explain me difference between alternate chargeability and derivative status? My fiancee won a green card lottery but in her entry I was not as a depandent, now we gonna get marry but I guess If I want to immigrate with her I can not, am I right?

I guess only dependents listed in your spouse's application can travel to the US.
