procedure to make visa h1b from h4

Kindly let me know the procedure to convert my visa status from H4 TO H1 or i can work here, currently i am in Los Angeles, on h4, need to some work here, please advise me.

If you qualify for a H1B, then you have to find an employer who can file a change of status from H4 to H1B. When the H1B petition gets approved (with a new I-94), you can start working for the employer as of the H1B effective date. It is illegal to work and get paid when you in H4 status.
