H1 blue slip from Mumbai with comments

I appeared for H1b renewal stamping visa on Dec 14 with my wife ( h4) and submitted docs on Dec 29. There has been no updates from consulate except the case is under Admin Processing . Waiting since more than 3 months now. In the mean time i totally thought of giving it up as i already sold my household items in US and remaining items moving in storage...but the last week has given me some ray of hope..

Today i tried to send an email to VFs and it bounced back . I don't know whats going on. The whole Admin Process seems convoluted.

Looks like me, @abhi and @Vijay are only people from Dec interview batch who are waiting so long. Praying is the only option.
Sometimes I think that our cases are not even looked at with so much days passed.
No updates, no tracking and no source of checking whats going on.

I am checking the case status online pdf file daily in a hope to see my barcode number there. According to VFS if the barcode number appears in the PDF file then you can submit your passport to VFS...But as per few user comments in the forum those you got an email their barcode number did not appear in PDF file at all, also I read somewhere the PDF file is updated only for yellow slip..So not sure what to expect. The whole process is a mess and lead us to more stress and depression.

I read the article links posted by @orion06 . Good to know about Visa mantis and all. I understand 1 out of 100 can be a potential threat but for that making 99 to suffer make no sense at all.

Anyway guys lets hope for the best and lets have faith in GOD.

I also heard that in few cases, they are calling people instead of sending emails or updating the barcode # online in a pdf. It is a mess as they don't follow a standard procedure.

Hello,

I had my second H1B stamping interview on January 3 2012 at mumbai consulate. I am direct employee of a large chemical company(in US since 2003). I was handed over Green 221g and asked to submit few documetns related to research and job profile. My CEAC barcode appeared on february 9, 2012. My wife and I have submitted passsport on February 10, 2012 for stamping at VFS location. As of now (April 3, 2012) we are still waiting to get our passport back from consulate.
It is being 3 months since our first interview and close to two months after submission of passport.
The passport tracking system is useless and shows “under process at US consulate”. Does anybody knowshow much time it takes to get passport back from consulate after completion of 221G? Is this normal delay?
Contacting VFS several times is also useless.
Any suggestion would be a great help.

Dear Friends,

Sorry for the late posting.

I am working for a small company who filed H1B petition for me begining of 2011. I came back to India after 10 months to attend my brother's wedding. So I went for H1B stamping at US Embassy, New Delhi on 29th November 2011. VO asked me couple of questions regarding Employer, Work and Work Location but she handed me 221g green receipt requesting to submit some corporate documents(W-2, Federal Tax returns and etc...) which I submitted within 2 days. My waiting time is now start. Waited for 3 months, contact DOS, VFS but no help ! (retain my passport)

Finally, I received an e-mail from consulate asking to send some documents;
1. Resume
2. Employment Letter
3. Past travels and travelers accompanying me.
4. Reasearch
5. Purpose
6. Export Licence
7. Equipment

Whatever was related to me I prepared document for each and for others I just wrote "this is not related to me". I sent them all within a week.

After three weeks, I received an e-mail from VFS " Your passport is ready for Delivery" I received my passport on 30th March 2012. All in all, I have waited exactly 4 months to get my passport back from US Embassy.

So please keep patience which is very hard.

I have been following this thread of 221g for long but never thought of registering on this thread, but today I thought I should update this thread with my details:

Interview Date: 20th Dec 2011, 221g blue given with documents to submit which I already had.

Document Submission date: 23rd Dec 2011.

Client Manager Contacted on: 10th January 2012.

I contacted DoS on: 21st Feb 2012, got a reply case is under Admin processing.

Client Manager Contacted again: 1st March 2012, saying this is a followup for earlier mail.

I contacted Dos again on: 22nd March 2012, got reply that case is still in pending state.

Contacting VFS is a waste, so contacted consulate on 29th March, was asked to contact VFS.

Has anybody heard about something similar to my case?
