Indian passport renewal at Washington DC office

hello guys
i have sent my passport renewal application on 25th oct 2011 at washington DC by mail and i didn't hear anything yet. My passport has been issued in india and I am planning to visit india in end of december this year for my H-1B visa stamping.. Its been more than 4 weeks and I am really worried about my passport now because I have to take my visa appointment dates also.

Can anyone help me with this? what should I do? Should I go to embassy and talk to them or just wait for my passport to come??

You can either visit them in person or you can attempt to call them.

Thank you so much for the reply. I tried calling them but nobody picks up the phone at embassy. So I am planning to visit them on friday. Will post what happens on friday.

hey I received my passport today.... It took exactly 1 month from the date they received my passport by mail...
