Change of name for my baby

Hi all,

My baby was born in India and we have moved to US recently on H4 visa.
I need to change the name of my baby in his passport and as well as his birth certificate. They both are issued by the Indian government.

We do not have plans of going to India in the near future.
Can someone please let me know if I can get this done from the US itself?

You will have to go through legal name procedure in U.S. state court.

You just contact a local lawyer who can help you with that.

The procedure would be quite specific to the state you live in, and sometimes even specific to the county.
