    Default Buying Land in Restricted access areas in India as a OCI

    Hi there,

    I have a question about the restricted area access we have in india. I was born in India and then moved to Australia to become an Australian citizen. I have not applied for either OCI or PIO as yet. However, I would like to buy a land or buy a house in one of the restricred areas in India. Whether I apply for a OCI or PIO, will I be able to do this? Any help and advice would be appreciated.

    You may already not be able to buy property in those areas, being an NRI.

    Getting PIO or OCI will not have any negative consequences.
