RFE for L2 (I-539)extension (5 year son)

Hi - After renewing my 5 year old son's passport, I submitted a I-539 for his L2 - I94 extension. My L1 petition and Visa are valid until Dec'13. However I got an RFE (yet to receive it on hand)! Does someone know what do they expect in such RFEs? It sounds so strange to me for a 5 year old kid to get a RFE.
Pls let me know if you have come across this before. Thanks.

One cannot tell. It can be for some simple missing document such as your I-94 copy or paystubs or W-2 or something.
