Default Help please: TCS sends letter asking for 6 lakhs

I switched from TCS L1 to H1B about four years ago and I did exit interview and left on good terms. I even got an experience certificate for my green card processing....

Today my mother said she received a mail in the package citing breach of contract and stuff and TCS demanding a compensation of nearly 6 lakhs. I am not sure what my options are.

Has anyone heard about this? Please help as to how I can proceed. Does anyone have experience in this matter?

Another important question: I am in the process of applying for I-485 AOS for my green card. Is there any way this wrangling will negatively impact my green card process?

    Please help

If you have a signed a contract and you breached, you will need to fulfill your obligations of that. This matter is separate from your U.S. immigration.

That would not have the effect on your green card processing such as I-485.

What was the breach claim all about? I am an attorney (California) and may be able to help with that but it sounds very strange.

Your visa application will be fine while there isn't any judgment against you but coming back will probably make you easy to serve papers to to appear in court.

    This is an odd situation.

    Hi Cranktank,
Does TCS gave you experience certificate without demanding any money? because I am in same boat as you, TCS is asking me around 5 lakh for experience certificate. Can you please tell, what is written in experience certificate, means its a detailed kind of? showing what technologies you worked on etc. I will be very grateful if you can send me a small scan or copy kind of, of your experience certificate (nav_duggal@yahoo.co.in). I just want to see it and find out whether its worth negotiating for with TCS.
