Frankly, 1 lac revenue + 10 lacs savings will not be enough.
I suggest you go with sponsorship by your wife .

Anyway, the reality is they have a bias against widows ( non-working) and
retired people with no children in India.
But one must try, maybe she will get lucky and get a good officer .

    Default Big Thanks!!!

    Hello Peace,

Good news is that my aunt got visa on 30th July. I must say a big Thanks to you for all your inputs which guided us thoroughly to prepare for the interview.
We have tried with self sponsorship, requesting for 6 weeks of stay. We were ready with all bank statements / IT returns documents of her son showing as joint business. But officer didn't see any of the documents and granted the visa. I would say he is one of those good officers that our Aunt went and we got the visa luckily.
We are waiting for the passport, may get in a day or two and hoping it would 10 years multiple entry.

For the rest of the members who are curious about visas for Widows. Positive factors that worked in our case are - good family ties(all 4 kids stay in India), pension from her Husband's job, property (own house) and last but not least my aunt's age (65).

I will post the exact questions she faced in the interview shortly.

    Thanks.

Default Is the Spouse name addition to dependent passport mandatory for UK Dependent visa

    Hi All,

Is it mandatory to have spouse name added if I have to go on a dependent visa to UK. We have the Marriage certificate ready. Also, My husband's passport does not have my name added as Spouse.

If yes, then how much time does it take for spouse name addition to my passport and Is it required to get the name added in his Passport aswell?

Your inputs would be highly helpful.

    Thanks
