I am a Canadian citizen. I changed my status from F-1 to TN via I-129 (mail-in TN). This was because my wife is not Canadian and I wanted to jump over the hassle of getting a visa for her. Now I have an I-797A with I-94 at bottom and a CBP I-94 stamped with f-1. After 2 years of starting my TN, now I want to have a short trip to Canada. Here are my Qs:
1- At exit, should I tear off I-94 from bottom of I-797A and give it to airline along with f-1 I-94?
2- If the answer to 1 is Yes, how can I prove I was on TN and then should I get a new TN with all needed document like TN letter ?
3- If the answer to Q1 is No, Will CBP officer ask me why I have F-1 I-94 in my passport?
Bottom line, should I have TN letter ? or I don't need it cuz I have TN already. My employer just gave me a letter saying I have been working for them on TN since (date) and I am currently employed. His lawyer said you don't need a TN letter. I am confused.
I just put my Questions in order to communicate effectively. Feel free to answer them how you feel comfortable about them. And thank you very much
