Exclamation Parents name mis-spelled in passport

    Dear Shervin,

Could u please help how to overcome this problem..?

    PARENT'S NAME : Rakesh shah ; Savithri
In Passport : Rakeshshah ; Savthri

I also have only the mis-spelled name of my parents in my h4 visa...
could u please suggest some ways to correct it...

    1) as my parents have not had their passport yet... shall i tell them to have the same spelling as in my passport or visa...?

    2) Will it cause any problem for my h4 visa...?

    PLEASE HELP

I don't know if you want input only from Shervin, but here's my two cents.

I have to assume the error occurred first when you got your passport and you have missed it. And again the same mis-spelt name got into your H4. It's been a long time since I have actually seen a H4 Notice of Approval or a Visa and I can not imagine they have copied the information from your passport and NOT from the application where the assumption is you WOULD spell it correctly.

My advice would be, do not compound the problem by suggesting that your parents should obtain passports with the wrong name. I can not imagine them agreeing to that anyway!!

On your Passport and H4 it remains as a TYPO and you should get them corrected at the first opportunity.
