Question I-485 and I-130 supporting documents

    Hi,

We are ready to file I-485 A and concurrently I-130. We do have two different packages for each form. However, some of the required documents are same for both forms such as certified divorce? Do I have to submit two (2) of them (one per form)? Or should we just include one and include the note that for example they can find that document in I-485 and do not include it in I-130?

    Thank you for your help.

Yes you can submit both applications in one package. (Even you can include your Employment Authorization applicatio-I765) but make each application form with its supporting documents.
Don't make a mistake that you submitted supporting to 1-130 and no need for I-485.

Submit each form with supporting docs even you put for other form. You may put paper clip to each form with its supporting docs.

You may need to supporting docs like, your I-190, Visa copy, Passport copy, Medicals (attached to I-485 form) Tax transcripts, marriage certificate, Proof of income (sponser), if you have any joint sponser, if any divorce papers etc.

    Default Two sepearet copies

Please make sure to attatch the copies seperately to each application.
And one advice is to make an EXACT COPY of the total FINAL PACKAGE including copies of your double copies. The goal is to have the exact same package and the exact same way you are sending it to USCIS. This is just a suggestion and will be helpful in case you need to remember or go through your application anytime. Thanks

Thanks everyone for their answers. We sent all paperwork, the Chicago lockbox received it on March 26t, 2012. The waiting game has begun. Will keep you posted.
