Is it possible to get H1B visa from E2?

Hi,

I have been on an E2 visa for the past 3 years (with one time renewal). During the past 3 years, luckily I was able to get a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science last December from an university in DC. And I am wondering if it is possible for me to get an H1b visa if I find a company who can hire and sponsor me. So is it possible to get it with my situation?

Possible. If this is your first time H1B, then the petition can be filed only on April 1st or later with the employment start date of Oct 1st or later. You will have to maintain a valid immigration status until Oct 1st or the H1B will not get approved as a COS to start working without leaving the country.
