hello! i'm applying for citizenship based on 5 year permamant resident. i recieved my GC on june 12 2007. I was out of U.S. and came back in Jan. 20, 2012 so do i need to wait till april 20, 2012 to apply for naturalization based on 3-month continuos residence requirement? pls. help.

No, you can apply now. The 3-month residence requirement means that you cannot move to a different state or district. Taking a trip does not break your residency in the state. So you are eligible to file now.
