Default Travel to India with indian pasport and usa passport

    Hi
I'm planning to take the Oath and also get the usa passport through expedite service. To enter India
i was told that i can use India passport for 3 months for the time of becoming a usa citizen and so i can use both the passports for one time to travel in india and then come back and apply for OCI Card immediately.
Is this true and will not end u in trouble if i do this...who is the right authoritative person to answer if it is true or not..where can i refer to it..
Any numbers i can contact here or in india..i was trying to send an email to travisa service which process the OCI ,PIO Cards...but was not able to as it asked for application number..
Within a week from Oath i have tickets to travel to india , i can get usa passport at the best, but Oci card will take time itseems..so i heard that i can use my indian passport for 3 months and then surrender for OCI card application and process..is this true and will it work out?

    Thanks
    Mee.

I know that once you get naturalized in US and intend to travel overseas you must get US passport before you leave USA. Nowadays you can issue a passport from the passport agency within 24 hrs (remember you need an appointment and a ticket that you are planning to travel abroad in 14 days from the date of application filing), it is called getting passport at the same day and it is different from expedite passport issuance option.

On the other hand US allows the US holding passport to use his original country's passport to enter/leave his country only but to always use the US passport for elsewhere.

As far as travel and entry to India is concerned I guess the best place to ask is the Indian Embassy in US. Good Luck.

As I indicated earlier, definitely get a US passport right after your oath ceremony. Do not leave the US without your US passport.

All the other information you are asking about the Indian passport should be available from the Indian Embassy/Consulate. Contact them and verify the info you wrote about above.
