H4 work options

Hi all:

I am on H1B. My wife is on H4 but she is still in India. She has been given an offer at a US company who is willing to do a H1. So she can start on Oct 1. But the company wants her to start ASAP. Can she do an unpaid work for the firm until Sep 30 and start on payroll from Oct 1?

On a related topic, can she work for her Indian employer 'remotely' from US on H4? She will be paid in INR.

>>> Pure illegal. If she wants, she can stay back in India and work for the employer and get paid. If she enters U.S in H4, she should NOT work.
