what if passport expires ?

Hi,

I am planning to attend for F1 visa for this fall, but my passport will expire in November 2014.
My questions are
Will they grant VISA ?
Even if they grant VISA, what happens if my passport expires during my stay in USA ?


I have heard that if i apply for passport renewal here in india, it would take 6 months for the new passport.
I am really confused...

Don't worry. It is still a long way away.

You can get your passport renewed from the Indian Embassy/Consulate in the US.
