L1 will be cancelled, and If i have H1 Lin will i be able to stay in usa

Hi

1. I am working for Company X and came on a L1 on may 20 of 2005. and i got my I-94 till may 2008..
Now my company X wants to cancel my L1 and wants me to come back to India.. CO x will cancel my L1 on AUG 15
2. I have applied for H1 - B from company Y and I will get my Lin# for the H1 by AUG 10

Is it possible for me to stay on this Lin #

Hi,
You can legally stay in the US even if you have proof( receipts issued for the H1b processing fees, etc.) that Co.A has filed for your H1b. You can legally stay if you have ur LIN no. too. But if for some reason, your h1b is not approved, u should leave US as soon as you come to know of the refusal.
