Question Is a return ticket mandotary for US citizen

I am on L1 and am going to India for good.

Now my baby is a US Citizen. When I tried to purchase a one-way flight ticket to India for her, the receptionist at Delta had said that it is required by Immigration laws that US citizen should have a return ticket?

Is it true?

Thanks
Sri.

us citizen is free from these restrictions! unless the travel agent knows something more due to the age of your citizen baby, u need not have to purchase a return tkt. call continental or better yet talk to an air india travel agent.

Viren,

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually there is no such regulation or Immigration law.

Thanks
