Construction for the new U.S. consulate in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) started in 2003 and the consulate moved there officially on Novermber 21, 2011. Instead of previously 13 visa counters, the current consulate has 44 windows. It also has two waiting rooms which is able to accomodate 1000 applicants each. The current consulate is more spacious, has an electronic line management system. There are also additional Stanley staff who will be able to assist you in your visa application.

Interpreter: If you don't speak English, interpretors are available in Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Malayalam and Konkani, if you have requested the same in advance while taking the appointment.

As Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad consulates do not have an immigrant visa section, all immigrant applicants under those consulate jurisdictions should go to Mumbai. In other words, residents of the following states would deal with immigrant visa at the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai:
