Duplicate PIO Card
If your PIO card was lost or damaged, you can get a duplicate PIO card. The procedure for getting a duplicate
PIO card is essentially the same as that of applying for a new PIO card.
However, in such cases, you will have to provide additional documents and the fee amount differs.

Lost PIO Card
- Police report: You must file a police complaint immediately after losing the PIO card. Otherwise, it
can be misused.
You must submit a detailed police report that mentions the loss of the PIO card.
- Copy of the lost PIO card.
- A duly signed statement mentioning how the PIO card was lost.
- Copy of the surrender certificate.
Applicable only in case of naturalized citizens of Indian origin.
If you don't have it (because there was no such rule when you earlier applied for PIO), you must get it first.
- Fee: $100
+ Travisa Service Fee of $12 = Total $112
Damaged PIO Card
- Original damaged PIO card.
- The copy of the PIO card in its non-damaged condition.
- A duly signed statement mentioning how the PIO card got damaged.
- Copy of the surrender certificate.
Applicable only in case of naturalized citizens of Indian origin.
If you don't have it (because there was no such rule when you earlier applied for PIO), you must get it first.
- Fee: $100 + Travisa Service Fee of $12 = Total $112
