Updates on my status
Hey guys. I finally have something in my case. I got RFE with request for joint marital asset evidence
The thing is that we moved out from Florida now and we'll be living at my husbands parents for a week or so. After that we'll be moving in a new place with our both names on the lease in Ohio.The previous lease had only my husband's name because of the stubborn landlord. So my question is : we have joint tax return, joint car insurance, new lease which we'll sign in a week. Is that enough? And should we update our addresses first and send the RFE back or opposite?
Thank you as always;)

Random changing dates online
Hi, Can anyone help shed some light on my case. My AOS package (marriage based) was sent to the Chicago lockbox and is being processed in MSC. My package was received on April 07th and my case changed to "ready to be scheduled for interview as of May 12th". When I checked my status today, it had changed to being "ready to be scheduled for interview as of July 05th".

I have not received any interview notice yet.

Has anyone experienced the dates on their online case status randomly changing like mine did? ?

Can anyone tell me if it means anything?? I am really confused by the change in date.

Thank you.

It really is a waiting game here in Dallas, TX
My local field office is Dallas, TX

Family Based Green Card. (Unmarried son/daughter of US citizen)

Here is my timeline.

10/23/2007 -> Applied I-130
10/29/2007 -> Received confirmation.
10/15/2014 -> Applied for Change of status, Work authorization and Advanced Parole.
10/21/2014 -> Received conformation that they received all the docs.
10/24/2014 -> Received confirmation that they received the fingerprint fee
11/03/2014 -> Received appointment for Biometrics
11/19/2014 -> Went and gave my fingerprint.
01/05/2015 -> New card I-765 was ordered.
01/06/2015 -> I-131 was approved.
01/10/2015 -> Received EAD
01/13/2015 -> Received Advanced Parole

Past 8 months the online status hasn't changed. Its still says that on Oct 24 they received Fingerprint fee.
Went to local USCIS office and they told me that my case was sent to be on queue on 2nd March and it shouldn't take more than 3-4 months. Well it has been that time but still haven't heard anything from them.
Checked online and found out that Dallas is currently processing I-485 as of date July 09, 2014...

Also the guy at USCIS told me that i'd receive appointment date letter at least 2 months ahead.

Is anyone facing the same problem as me???

Update on I-485
Hello everyone,

Just an update on my case. Finally!!! we received a mail yesterday for the schedule of our interview. The appointment letter was sent June 24, 2015 and we received it yesterday. The schedule date of the interview is on the first week of Aug 2015 and the location is in Manhattan, NY.

My spouse and I were so happy that finally we have the interview appointment. Is it true that don't be discouraged on the status of your case online but pay attention on your mailbox. My case was not change after we received the letter.

I'll keep everyone posted on after our interview.

Always remember have faith and patience and most importantly PRAY. :)

Abandoned i485 bot knowing now stuck in canada
I need help i am canadian married to an american soldier. We got married on a tourist visa so ni fiance visa was usesd. This took place in the states. The lawyer that we hired never told me that i cannot cross back and forth during the i485 since i live in canada and my husband was just accross the border. We got married in november and since last week have been going back and forth no problem. Not knowing that i have abandoned my application. Before i was going to move to the states i called the lawyer and asked if my paper work is good enough proof to show that i can live there. He said yes you shouldnt have any problems. When i tell them i am moving there they said my lawyer screwed me and i cant enter with intent to immgrate. I am now stuck in canada and im wondering if i can go through consular processing here? Would it be a problem that we got married in the usa? I am so nervous

More financial info
I just received a letter on Friday 26th June that my wife did not meet the amount above the poverty line and they needed new evidence. They could not proceed with my adjustment of status until they get more evidence. She makes $25,500 a year and I notice that the proverty line is around $19,300 for a household of two. It is just get and myself. We just recently brought a new car in the amount of $19,0000. I am going to send that information in as well as price of another asset. I will also include my W2's which I didn't include the first time in the I-864. I make about $25,000. Do you think that is enough for them? After taxes my wife makes abut $16,000. But I make nite though.

RFE
Hi Everyone,

I received an RFE on the 15th June. It was very simple so I sent it back overnight and it was delivered on the 17th June.

Looking at peoples time lines the USCIS usually updates the case to say its received very quickly. I haven't had a letter confirming this and my online status has never changed - It didn't even show that I had an RFE

Can anyone provide some insight into whether I should get a letter updating me?

Thanks All!!

Received interview notice! :)
Hi everyone, I wanna share my timeline today hope this may help :)
My husband is a US citizen and we got married while I was on a student visa.
We are from Michigan

Here is my timeline:

Jan 28th - Package sent to Chicago mail box
Jan 29th - Received by USCIS
Feb 09th - Receipts mailed by USCIS
Feb 11th - Received all receipts
Mar 14th - Received RFE ( copy for my student visa)
Mar 16th - RFE received by USCIS
May 16th - Received biometrics appointment notice for 5/29
May 29th - Biometrics appointment done
Jun 20th - Received interview notice for 7/21 in Detroit, the notice date is 6/16

I know my timeline is kind of unusual, seems everyone got their biometrics appointment notice very soon after they received their receipts,
but I haven't get that until May!
That was very frustrating, I called that 800 number, after the first time I called ,USCIS sent me a letter which was no use at all, it said sorry for the
waiting but they can't tell me when they will schedule the biometrics appointment for me but my case still in a normal timeframe etc.
The second time I called was 5/15, because my online status said it will have an update on 5/15, but nothing change on 5/15, so the lady in the phone told
me I need to check my mail box.
The third time I called was 6/8, I was wondering because I just done my fingerprint 5/29, is that means USCIS just started work on my case, the gentleman
who picked up my call told me no worried about these because the fingerprint is not the first step, they may do the name check/background check first, but he
asked me my zip code, then he said for the Detroit office's timeframe is 7.5 to 8 months. That discouraged me a lot and my online status never changed.

But I received the interview notice on 6/20 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone don't put all your hope on the online status, I really don't think they update the status on time, even now my on line status still the same since
March :On March 16, 2015, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you.

So don't be discouraged by the online status, pay attention on your mail box:)

I hope my timeline is helpful and everyone can hear a good news soon!
I will keep updating my post :)

Visa Expiring
Hello Everyone!

I have a question that I hope someone can help with.

I have filled my i-130/ i-485 but my work visa will be expiring soon. Does this mean that I will be in the US illegally? I did not file for an EAD with my original petition as I didn't think I would need it, can I still file for this now?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks!
