Hello everybody, I am new to this forum, so here is a short story about our interview.
We had our interview 3 months ago, on May 13th. It was at 2pm.
The interviewer asked us our names and where we live (the address). Then she asked the following questions:
when and how we met? (my wife)
previous marriage and divorce (me)
about our children (if we have together)
kids from previous marriage (me)
then she asked to show her the evidence of our marriage (joint: lease agreement, bank account, statements, pics etc.)
She took all that stuff and then She asked for some more proof and My wife having Indian travelling visa She took the copy of that because are planning to fly down to India after 10 days of interview & end she didn’t took I-94 from my passport and said the decision will be mailed
marriage ( I came in United state in the month of Nov 2012 and get married in the month of Feb 2013 and filled I 130,I 131 I465,Advance payroll.
Theh officer Start asking me about my Previous marriage and divorce certificate and she asked me for my Real birth certificate copy along with she is interested to know what kind of work (business ) that I am doing , and I replied properly.
Then she asked does your family knows about your marriage ( My wife she is 8 yr elder then me )
And I replied yes and we are planning to go my home country ( India ) after 2 weeks and then asked my wife do you have Indian visa ? my wife replied Yes and officer took photo copy of that and flight tickets , then she asked where we married ( me ) and I replied place then there is some Indian god and Jesus god pics in the marriage pics she asked who are they and I replied this are my Indian god , So she replied you married with Indian tradition ..I replied sort of because here its difficult to find everything but we arranged some how something .
In all over conversation she didn't separate us , and in end she asked some formalities question that we filled in the forms and that’s it
She return my passport ( didn’t took out I 94 )
She took all that stuff & said the decision will be mailed.
Now its more than 100 days I didn't get any repose from them , I get good job and I start paying tax ( having work permit) , I need to travel down to India to meet my family Splly my mom ( She is not well) ..but I am confused
What if they reject my application so whether I am in the situation to renter to united state to fight with there decession ?
During this interview it seems to me that why I married that early with a girl whom I just met .But me and my wife let them realize that We love each other and that what is right thing to do to do in legal way so that I can take her to india to meet my family as well
For additional information

The time I married I get entry for 6 months and I married in first 2 month , Legal entry , Neither over stay .
So please give your view now what is going to be happen according to you and if I travel to my home country and if I get reject so can I at least enter into the state and fight for there decession because I heard they give 30 days time to replied them .

Advice Needed
Hi guys I'm looking for some advice, any past experiences or help would be amazing.

I came to the USA on a student VISA initially but fell in love at college and recently married my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years. Since the marriage things have gone downhill and we are thinking of splitting up. I do not yet have conditional residence as we haven't had out initial i485 interview. What happens if she refuses to attend or tries to mess it up for me? What happens if we file for divorce before the interview?

Do I still have the right or ability to stay as I gave up my whole life back home and have nothing to go back to except my parents couch and no job.

My I485 Experience
Hey Guys!

Well since I used this site to really help me with my process, I decided to post my AOS interview experience. I came here on an F1 visa in 2003, then was on an H1B for about 4 years. Met my wife in 2012, got married in 2013, H1B expired in June 2013, I sent in I-130 & 1-485 in June 2013. I know that time line is a little bit hard to follow but here goes with the actual interview. Well wait, let me tell you what we had prepared prior to the interview:

1. Joint Bank account statements
2. Post cards to each other
3. Post cards from relatives abroad addressed to BOTH of us
4. Life Insurance with spouse as beneficiary
5. Car and apartment insurance
6. Receipts from places we went together, ex., restaurants, hotels
7. Mail to our residence

So, we prepared a CRATE of stuff...yes a crate. One of those boxes with the wheels and handle you can easily maneuver. We had not been married a very long time so we wanted to gather as much evidence as possible.

Our interview was on Sept, 5th 2013 @ 8:00 am. A nice Hispanic officer called our number and we got up and met her at the entrance to the 'interview rooms'. Many other couples were being called in before us. Some were told that their spouses will be interviewed first and then them. We were greeted by the office and all I could think was 'Thank God we got her' because some of the other officers looked straight up mean as hell.

She led us to her office and made us swear an oath to tell the truth. She then took about 15 minutes checking stuff off in our packet as we handed her the originals to our copies (passport, ss #..etc etc.). There was alot of uncomfortable silence as she did this. Then she asked me if I was ever arrested or part of any terrorist group...yadda yadda....basically all the questions you had answered NO to on one of the application forms. Then she asked us, collectively I guess, how we met. We didnt know who she wanted to speak so there was a moment of pause until my wife decided to answer. Then she asked to see some wedding pictures. we gave her our wedding album and she went through it very quickly adding 'how nice' and 'how cute' all through out. She asked my wife about some people in the pictures and my wife said who they were and how we knew them. Then she got up and said she has to ask her supervisor for something which freaked me the heck out. Then she came back and said congratulations I am going to approve your case. She printed two documents (one for our file and one for their file) for us to sign. the document basically said that I was approved for a 2 year green card. I was so relieved!

To be honest, we prepared so much but the office did not ask for one piece of evidence we had spent weeks putting together. I feel like they already know who they're going to most likely approve or who they're going to drill hard core BEFORE you show up to the interview. Thats how it felt. My interview felt more like a formality than an actual interview.

Well God's blessings everyone! I could not have done this without the grace of God. So seek him first and everything will fall into place. Cheers!

How long does it take after an interview
Hi everyone! How long does it usually take for an immigration services officer to make a decision? I read the posts here and noticed
that it varies from State to State. Some said that they got response on the spot, some checked online to receive the result the next day. My
husband and I had an interview last week and was told that we should get a mail within 180 days. Will it take that long? Thanks!

AOS Interview on 8/13 - don't have original copy of birth affidavit
I have an AOS interview coming up on Tuesday (8/13). I am a Canadian citizen who is married to an American citizen. I was born in india and have an indian birth certificate. I have all my documents prepared, including originals of everything. The only document for which I don't have an original with me is my birth affidavit signed by my relatives living in India. The reason I needed this affidavit is because my birth certificate doesn't have my name on it (common practice in India). Could someone please tell me if I will get through the interview OK not having the original of the birth affidavit? Anyone have experience with something similar?

Thank you for your help.
