AOS I485 & I130
What the Interviewing Officer told you after the interview?

Last week I did my Interview (AOS - Married to US Citizen Spouse, overstayed with B2 Visa). It took us 7 hours of 2 sets of Interview in San Francisco, California last Wdnesday 5 June at 1030am to 12lunch then 1230pm to 530pm. It was realy a kind of sentencing too many question from our Marriage as it only took us to decide 1 month from we first meet Jan 25 to get marry. The Officer want to know why it took us early to decide specially I am a Divorce and overstayed individual.

After Interview there was no decision made. The interviewing Officer just told us only 3 things will happened deny, approve or myself will be facing court proceeding for possible deportation. I was too scared going back home. I keep praying for MIRACLES to happened cause all we spoken is under Oath and we've been Video Recorded like interrogation.

The following Day 6th of June I awaked with hopeless getting my laptap and opening the USCIS Case Status...God I was surprise it shows Case status: CARD/DOCUMENT PRODUCTION that was 10am at 12pm it goes backward to DECISION - telling that the Customer has been Registered a New Permanent Residence Status...have to wait 60 days or ADIT or which later a Welcome letter.

I look my I-130 from Initial Interview to Post Decision - Case Status: Approved

For those who have similar on my case...my only thing I can say is that familiarize the apartment/home where you are living together, back track atleast 1 week of all happenenings (including personal thing like having sex with your partner, eating where the place and so forth), know her or his family memebers, have enough evidence showing your a couple and the last thing Believe in God of his MIRACLES to happened.

I-485
My husband and I put through our paperwork and the date it was accepted was October 5th. Had my Biometrics and have heard nothing since. The date the office is now showing as working on is October 7th. I called and they put through a file to my local office. I received an email that night saying my case is still being processed and unfortunately they can not give me a time frame. Nearly at 7 months now. Very Frustrated indeed

RFE for I-864 during Adjustment of Status
I received an RFE for the I-864 (affidavit of Support) that my husband filed along with the adjustment of status application.

In the RFE the income tax return for the year 2012 was requested. We filed in feb 2012 and did not send that years income tax return as we had not yet filed it. so we sent the returns for 2011, 2010 and 2009.

As a response to the RFE we had to send the 2012 tax return and a new I-864 to the address mentioned in the RFE.

Lesson Learnt - If you're filing your Adjustment of Status sometime in Jan-Feb then try and include that years income tax return in the affidavit of support form so you dont get a similar situation.

Now this has unneccessarily extended the time for the review of the application by 15-20 days.

I'm not an attorney or legal representative and the post is purely based on my experience and is meant to be used as a guidance only.

Processing Fee to the US Department of State
Hi,
in 2011 I won the Green Card Lottery and yesterday I had the interview in New York City. All the documents were ok, except for the fact that I forgot to pay the Processing Fee to the US Department of State, which I paid this morning. The immigration officer told me I should receive a communication from them next week. I am a little bit worried. I was wondering if anybody else went through a similar case. Thanks.

Waiting over 7 months for I-130/I-485 approval
I am the citizen, my husband a European citizen. We co-filed the I-130/I-485 with a priority date of August 2, 2012. My husband received his EAD/AP card and we had our interview 12/6/12. At our interview, we were told that our case was currently in background checks. We've heard nothing from them since. Two week ago, we had an Infopass appt and went to the local office (Long Island City, NYC) just to be told our case is "in background checks". I also did an e-file request last week, just in case we might find out more. Case still "in background checks.
A little background on us: I've been married once, 12 years ago. My first husband was a Lebanese native (we met in Egypt) who I petitioned for with the INS so we could start our life together in NY. Unfortunately, things did not work out between us and, after 4 years together, we separated amicably sometime around 2004 and eventually divorced in 2007 (or 2006?). I now have one 4-year old son by a man I never married, whom I was with briefly. My husband and I have now been together for 2 years, married for 1. We're a bit concerned that my former marriage to someone I petitioned for (successfully. He's now a citizen. We did not marry for a greencard, however. It was a genuine relationship.)
My husband has never been married, has no kids. He entered legally on a tourist visa but overstayed and has now been in the U.S. for almost 7 years.
If anyone has any advice, a similar experience, anything...:)
Thank you,
Sara

I-485 petition for wife & kids - only wife approved
My husband petitioned for my kids and I and on March 14 we had our interview following biometrics, approval of EAD etc. however during the interview, all went well. Except the officer said I was approved but not my kids since initially my husband filed the I-130 for me which was approved and had to then file separate ones for the kids. My issue is, why tell us that now? We filed all the I-485 since December 2012 and everything went through up until the interview. Why wasn't this medicated to us since we had sent in the I-485 applications?

So now we are awaiting correspondence from USCIS on the next steps.

Has anyone had a similar situation?
