Honorable Congressman Michael Johnson
3409 Central Road, Suite 341
Herndon, VA 20171

Reference: United States visitor visa for my parents Mr. Ram and Mrs. Sita Agarwal

Dear Congressman Michael Johnson,

I am a permanent resident alien, living in the 10th district for the past ten years. We own a condominium in Herndon, VA and have been living and working in this area for the past 10 years.

I would like to invite my parents, Mr. Ram and Mrs. Sita Agarwal, to come to the United States for sightseeing and to spend some quality time with their granddaughter, who is now 4 years old. During their last attempt to get a tourist visa, their visitor visa application was denied at the US Consulate (Mumbai) India, on the basis of potential for immigration.

[Scenario 1]
My aunt (father’s sister) had applied for their immigration in 2002 (almost 20 years ago), but my parents had not accepted that immigration, as they did not have any intention to come and immigrate to the United States. Even today, they don’t have any intention to stay in the United States, as my mother works as a registered nurse back in India, and she only has a 3-month vacation time for this trip. Also, my parents have real estate, investments, and most of our family, including my elder sister, husband, and their 5-year old grandson, back in India.

[Alternate Scenario 2]
Both of my parents are retired. As an ex-government employee, he receives a monthly pension and has received a substantial amount from the provident fund. My father owns a house worth Rs. 30 lakh, and has commercial properties worth Rs. 40 lakh. My younger brother lives with my parents and my older sister lives nearby. My parents enjoy the company of their 3 grandchildren very much. My parents also need to take care of my elderly grandmother and can’t leave her alone for a long time.

[Alternate Scenario 3]
My mother is a widow. However, she has no intentions to immigrate to the United States. My mother receives interest income from the deposits in her bank and rent income from her rental properties. Additionally, my mother has been staying in the same house ever since she got married to my father. She has many memories attached to her house with no intentions of abandoning it.

What actions do we need to take at this time for their tourist visa application to be approved? I am looking for your help to get them a visitor visa. I assure you and the United States Government that my parents will not be a burden to the government. I guarantee you that they will return back to India after a short visit.

My parents have an appointment for a visitor visa with the US Consulate (Mumbai) on January 23rd 2022 at 9:30 AM. Their visa application number is 9001234567 for Ram Agarwal and 9001234568 for Sita Agarwal.

Sincerely,

Manisha Gupta
