Passport renewal experience at New York by mail (normal processing)
Hello,
I am posting my recent passport renewal experience at New York Embassy via mail option (normal processing)
December 31, 2018 - CKGS received my package
January 2, 2019 - Sent to Embassy for processing
January 9, 2019 - Got email update saying Embassy has returned my passport to CKGS
January 11 - FedEx delivered my passport to my home address
I found the process pretty straight forward and had no issues. Hope my experience helps to someone.
Also just a note, in case you want to do passport renewal in tatkal, just drop an email to CKGS (details are mentioned on their website , varies for each embassy) before filling out online application, they certainly gets back to you within 4-48 hours with tatkal approval/rejection update.
