Hi,
I applied for my son's (minor) passport renewal & is with the Embassy with status as processing at embassy since 7th Jan 2019
It will be 3 weeks this week since it is in the same status. I have to travel in the first week of Feb & not sure how can I get it expedited?
Is anyone sailing in the same boat & has received passport at least at the end of 3 weeks?
I am worried as I saw mutliple discussions below for delayed processing sepcially at DC & SFO Embassy.
Thanks,
Ajey

In SFO, passport renewal is taking 5-6 weeks. I applied on Dec 14,2018 and received the passport on Jan 22, 2019.

I have applied for renewal on 12/4/2018. Still waiting. Get a standard response from CKGE whenever I contact them. Really pathetic.

I plan on emailing embassy directly if I do not hear back by end of January.

Hi,
My Passport renewal is also pending since 01/08 at DC consulate.
I have travel plans to India in the 3rd week of Feb.
Does anybody have latest update on their case?

Regards,
Jai Mishra

Mine says 'under processing at embassy' since 15th of Jan and I have my travel booked in the 3rd week of Feb.
Seems we can't expedite the process until unless we email a request, get it approved and cancel the current application, which would be a bit long for my time frame.
Please post if you have any update on your status.

Mine was pending since Dec 04th and status got updated to dispatch yesterday, if its very urgent you can visit embassy if its feasible or send a tweet to @IndianPassportDC.

Should I make an appointment with the Embassy/CKGS before I go there, or I can visit them anytime?
Will they hand me over my passport if I visit them directly and if the passport is ready there?
of should I withdraw the current application and start filing a tatkal now?

No appointments are necessary at embassy as far as I know and yes if the passport is ready and its not yet dispatched to CKGS then they will handover directly to you. I wouldn’t suggest withdrawal...best option will be to visit embassy with your travel tickets.

Note: this is my personal opinion. Finally it’s you’re decision

Once Embassy accepts the urgent request, how much time it takes to move to the next stage ?

Hello,

My passport is under process since Nov 21, 2018. I was wondering if we can do anything about it. They aren't replying to emails or calls.

Hello,

I have received an update today that the passport is issued & preparing for dispatch

To all of you who are waiting for around 4 or more weeks. Tweet @IndiaPassportDC & do multiple followups to the email address with a valid reason.

I am sure Embassy will help. In case they responded to most of emails & I too sent them one email per day until they issued it.

Hi Ajey - Can you confirm the email address again please? Is it CKGS email ?
I end up calling to paid CKGS helpline today, (almost $2.50/min) and they charged me $29 for phone call and basically said the same thing.
Damn frustrated and overwhelmed with these people response.

Hi,
I would suggest to tweet @IndiaPassportDC and you will surely receive a response to share your case details via email.

Although it’s a generic email I would suggest to tweet first so that you have track to begin coversation.

Hi Ajey..
I did tweet to @IndiaPassportDC and sent the details to the e-mail id they have provided. After tweeting and sending e-mail how long did it take for you to get the passport?
