Dealy in DC passport renewal due to system upgrades?
My passport status was updated on Feb 1 to say it was sent to the embassy for processing. No updates yet.
I emailed CKGS about the status and here is what they said. This is really bad and sad - they should have told this earlier on their website as I have international travel coming up soon:

Please be informed that due to up-gradation in the Embassy system, processing time for the Indian passport applications in Washington DC is prolonged to 6 weeks. Please expect a delay in response.
Request you continue tracking your application status on the website. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.

I am not sure when to expect my passport at this point. I hope its in the next 2 weeks and in time for my travel.
