Work permit - time lines
Hi all,
I am an Indian and working in US on H-1b, applied Canada work permit and following are the time lines,
Submitted appliction online - 02/13/18
Biometrics letter received - 02/13/18
Biometrics submitted - 02/14/18
Passport request received - 02/19/18
Sent overnight courier - 02/20/18
Reached VAC - 02/21/18
First update from VAC - 02/25
Passport ready to collect from VAC - 02/26
Went to NYC and collected the passports
Overall - exactly 2 weeks of time
Few thing to note,
- Submitted passports to NYC VAC
-$19.90 cashiers cheque for each applicant (my kid and spouse)
-Created return label in FedEx, but NYC VAC does not accept FedEx. Hence best option is using UPS/USPS
-I have not faced any problems during this entire process
