Treatment by Indian Embassy/Consulate
We are an importer and we got defrauded by a company called Aspire Fabrics in Panipat for U.S.$92,000.00.
They did so by submitting fake documents, fake indian custom declaration forms to us. We approached Commercial Attache in Indian Embassy in Washington D.C and also Indian Consulate in Houston,Texas. Till this day all they have done is given only a lip service to us. They have refused to contact Police in India to file criminal charges against the exporter. This was our first order for products from India and we were planning to import about one million U S Dollars
worth of products from India. We import products from China in large quantities with absolutely no problem. We have dropped all plans to import from India. The government of India does not care at all. That is why the economy in India is weakening. Rupee is depreciating. And India could have balance of payments problems. Given our situation, I will not buy even one dollar worth of product from India till the Government decides to go after the crooks and restores the importer's confidence in doing business with India. Indian Consulate in Houston was pathetic in their response.
So no more business with India as far as we are concerned.
