NO One even bothers to look at your passport at Frankfurt airport, so there is no need to get transit visa. I just came back thru Frankfurt last week (Aug 7).

Take transit visa if u dont have a valid US/canada visa else just relax.

Got German Transit Visa stamped. Flying by Lufthansa
Just to keep readers updated .. My wife got her German transit Visa stamped last week from their consulate in New York. Here H4-Visa had expired and so she had to get transit Visa. Though her flying date is still two months away I some how convinced them to give her transit Visa. They said they only issue transit visa a month in advance. It takes 2-3 hrs at consulate, they move very slow. Fees are $47 (+$15 if needs to be mailed). Currently visa can be picked up next day only or can be schedued to be mailed over night next day also.

Transit visa for one-way ticket to India from US
Hello Friends,

I'm an Indian national currently on a H1 visa in USA. I intend to go back for good with a one-way ticket through Lufthansa via Frankfurt.

I went through the Germany embassy website and it informs me that I can obtain a transit visa on arrival at Frankfurt. The question I have is whether this is valid for my one-way ticket as well!!

Thanking you people in advance,

Rajesh

Has any one recenty travelled to US transiting via London? I am trying to buy 2 tickets on british airways for my parents who have already obtained the US visa and the agent said my parents would need transit visa.

But the exemption says YOU ARE EXEMPT IF

You are travelling TO the US from another country and hold a valid airline ticket for travel via the United Kingdom and a valid US visa

Does that mean my parents would not need transit visa? Please help me.
