H1B, H4 Visa

Hello,

Background:
Came to US on F1 visa in Dec 2013 and traveling back to Ind for first time for h1b stamping.
Received H1 -> Oct 2016 - Aug 2019
Due to Amendment H1 changed to -> Dec 2017 - Dec 2018
1st extension -> Dec 2018 - June 2019
2nd extension -> June 2019 - June 2022.

Question 1: If VO asks is this your first h1b? What should be my answer? Yes or No or 1st h1b with 2nd extension??

Questions while filling DS-160:

Background:
Did Bachelors Degree (Electronics and Communication Engineering), Masters Degree (Master of Digital Science i.e. related to Telecommunication and Networking). Currently working as a software developer (IT field).
 
Question 2: In Work/Education/Training section:
Have you attended any educational institutions at a secondary level or above? I've entered Yes and entered My Masters Degree information there.
 Now do I need to click add more and add Bachelor's Degree also or can I completely skip entering Bachelor's information?
 If I need to mention Bachelor's Degree then in that, under course I think I need to mention Electronics and Communication Engineering. By writing this so, do I get additional questions such as
 Since you've done Bachelors and Masters in Telecom and Networking and working as Software Developer. Any reason why you're working as a Software Developer? What should be my answer?
 
 
 Question 3:
 Lets say salary mentioned in LCA is 60K and W2 amount is 70K i.e. there is 10K more in W2. When VO asks what's your annual salary? Should I mention salary in LCA/W2?
 If LCA salary is mentioned, then if W2 is also asked and if difference is observed? What should be my answer to that question?

Hi, I have submitted my document on 7th Aug for H4 stamping and case is stuck in Administrative processing since then. Today status got changed on USTraveldoc as " There is no status update available for Passoport".

Did anyone faced similar situation and Is is a positive/negative sign. Any help would be great!!

I dropped my docs on Aug 19th. Now in Ceac website it says Administrative Processing. Does it mean i got an slip ?? Should I go collect my doc? But in ustravel docs it says your passport is still with US embassy or consulate. Did anyone faced like this. I am little worried.

I submitted my passport on 19th Aug in Chennai vac. Still i see the status as " your passport is still in US embassy"
Is there a way that they dont update the status when visa issued. I have booked my return ticket for next friday. I m little tensed. Anyone has any recent experience with dropbox at Chennai vac?

I attended my H1b visa interview on 23rd August in Mumbai. I went to the consulate 1 hour ahead of my interview slot and was let inside. All in all the process was very fast and I came out even before my slot ever came. The number of windows where interview are happening is a lot more compared to other places ( I've been to Hyd for previous H1b).

Question:-

VO:-
Asked for Passport , I-797
What do you do for Company-X ( gave a short 1 liner including my designation)
Where is Company-X exactly. (gave address)
How long have you been with the company ?
What is your highest education qualification?
Where do you stay? (Answered accordingly)
Asked for previous passport. (provided)
VO said your visa is approved, passport will be sent in 2-3 business days.

Status changed to "Administrative-Processing" on 23th, updated to "Issued" on 26th. Received passport in blue dart on 27th.

Hope this experience helps someone who is worrying about how their interview might go. People post in this and other forums only when they have issues, to get help and assistance. There are many cases which are just fine that don't get posted. So relax and do your best. And dress normally (business casual, jeans is also fine) no need to stress, it does not even matter.

Hi guys, I attended for H1b visa interview on August 20th at Chennai consulate office along with 2 dependents (spouse and kid). Our visas were approved.

Status on the website changed to Issued after 2 days.

How do I know if our passports are ready for pickup from the pickup center? Do we receive an email or sms?
Typically how many days does it take for the passports to be available for pick up?

I attended H1B visa interview today at HYD consulate just 3 hrs back.

This my first H1B stamping and I am a FTE to the xxxx Bank.

VO asked me only one question - Do you know your work rights in US? I said YES

and then He said you all set, your visa is approved and you will receive your passport in 2-3 days.

so it all went smoothly.

Had my H-1b visa interview on Aug 27th 2019 at 10 AM,

This was my first my H-1 visa interview (F1- H1)

Officer asked me about my employer and end client details, he asked whether i visit my employer location and i said i oftenly visit the employer location and i am suppose to work at client location and also i have a dedicated space at my client location, also asked my duties at client location and asked who are the other employees from my petitioner working with my client. Then asked my client and employer letters and told me to hold for a while and took scan copies of them and gave my passport back with 221g white slip second box- (Your Application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision is made) without any case number on it, and said we might contact you if needed any further docs, or passport drop or anything else and your application needs further processing !!

Anyone have same kind of situation and what does second checked box ticked on white slip means?

Had my H1B visa interview at the Mumbai Consulate on August 19 at 8.30 am.

This was an H1 extension (same employer, FTE), first H1 stamping after transitioning from F1.

Officer asked me for my approved I-797 and passport. Asked for my I-20 to verify sevis stuff. After about 7-10 mins of follow up questions, he said everything looks good, visa is approved and I should expect my passport back in 3-5 business days. No questions about employer, salary, job description surprisingly.

Here's the timeline:

August 10: Biometrics (15 minutes)
August 14: Case Created
August 19: Consulate Interview (30 minute wait, security, initial processing | 30 minute wait to get to a counter | 10 minutes for interview)
August 19: Case Updated (Post Interview)
August 20: Administrative Processing (Case Updated around 3-4 pm IST)
August 21: Administrative Processing (Case Updated around 1-2 pm IST)
August 22: Issued (Case Updated around 9.30- 10.30 am IST)
August 22: Passport ready for pick-up (around 2.15 pm IST)
August 22: Passport picked up from collection facility (Around 4 pm IST)

Be prepared with all your documents. I was asked for a really old I-20 and fortunately I had it with me. Stay as calm as possible and remember that the officer is only trying to do his/her job. If he/she's asking you several follow-up questions, answer them calmly and patiently. Everything will workout as long as you're honest and upfront about your application.

Hi,

One of my friend got 221g white slip at Calcutta consulate. No documents asked. Passport returned back but kept the client letter.

Interview was on July 25th and it has been 30 days but neither the client nor the employer received any call.

Any suggestions on this based on your experience. How long would it take and what to expect??

Wait time for him has been horrible and very stressful with the complete process.
