B1 rejected in 2014, this is my first time h1b
allowed me inside @7:50
passport verification done initially in front of main gate
security check up done inside, went near to counter and they collect all passports who are in the line.
Finger print verified and returned the passport. Again waited in the line for interview. A young Indian lady collected all the passports from the queue and kept in front of VO. Young lady interview me.

Me: Hi mam, Good morning
VO: Good morning
    She took my passport
VO: H1B
Me: yes
VO: Is this ur first h1b
Me: yes
VO: Who is ur client?
ME: told
VO: can you spell it out?
Me: spelled
VO: Who is ur employer?
Me: told
VO: what do you do at client location?
Me: told
VO: How many years of experience do you have?
Me: xxx years
VO: what is ur designation?
Me: I am xxxx
VO: Can you tell about ur project?
Me: told in 2 lines
VO: How long you have been working with this employer?
Me: new opp
VO: whats is ur full name?
ME: told

Finally magic words
 
VO: you're visa approved
Me: thank you

she kept my passport with her, she didn't asked any docs, she just took my password and started interviewing.

Hyderabad consulate: I have submitted my docs to Dropbox on July 29th and after 2 days I got an email saying that my passport is available for pick up.
I went to collect my passport on Aug1st and found a slip saying that I need to attend interview at consulate.
I have attended interview and VO asked Below questions:
- who’s your employer
- what’s your highest level degree
- from how long have you been working with this client
- is this your first h1 or extension
- what’s your designation?
- are you out of status at anytime ?

At last, he took passport and gave me a white 221g slip and said that we need to admin processing and it will take 3-5 business days.

I asked him do you need any documentation now, then he said no.

What should I do now ? Is anyone been in similar situation and got approval after 5 days ?

I came on vacation and used dropbox for visa stamping. I got email to schedule an interview (scheduled to aug5th) and then received my passports after a month 31st july to attend all of us.

Today we went for visa interview. CO asked few questions and mentioned everything is clear from interview but I will receive an email with questionnaire and asked me to respond at the earliest.

I was handed over 221g refusal letter with first box checked.

Any one has the similar experience?? What are the next steps??

I have been living in US since 2009 and never had issue with my stamping. I work for a US based company (FT)

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Interview Date - June 20th
Consulate - Chennai

VO- Retured passport with 221G Blue Slip. Administration processing- No documents required.

July 13th - Client verification received. Client responded within 2 days.

Aug 1st - Received 221G again via email asked to submit below documents. Please advice if anyone face similar scenario.

How much time it took after submitting these documents? Please suggest.

Requested Document: State Unemployment Wage Reports, showing all wages paid to each employee in the state, for the past three quarters as filed for all States.
This should be the actual forms filed to the state government authorities listing each employee and wages paid during the quarter and a notarized list of all petitioner’s employees. The list should show all employees’ names, their specific job titles, start and end dates, and their individual salaries and immigration status.

VO Questions were simple

Are you working with xxxx?
Which location ?
How long with employer ?
Salary?

Visa approved

I got little panic as there are many rejections now and even the person standing front of me.

Passport Delivered and collected on 2nd August just 3 days after interview.

Wanted to know what could and what could not

Mine took 21 total days from the interview

The wait sucks...and you just have to accept it .. life sucks may a times...
I could have better spent time on analyzing the problem and solve it by
Looking at all dif angles and if I could do anything about instead of worrying
But I did worry and didn't do some looking that I wanted to .. anyways case was approved
But I worried people around me ..

Here are my timelines:

July 5: interview
          V: where do you work , salary, location, client or not ? etc...
          Answered.. I am an fte
          V: I see you lost your passport
           Explained circumstances
          V: give me your opt dates etc...
           I didn't remember exact dates ..gave answers but fumbled a bit
          V: okay, we don't need any more docs from you, we will retain your passport
           And you would hear something in a week or so

But I saw status it could take several weeks, and worried after a week
As I did work on CPT but it was done properly.

       July 29:ceac date update changed
       July 30: status changed to issued

I attended Visa interview for H1 on 5th March 2019, Hyderabad Location India. From then the case in AP. They didn't request any documents at the time of the interview or didn't get any email from them to submit the documents. Nobody contacted my Employer until now or my client for verification. Is there anyone under the same situation. I'm writing emails to [email protected] and [email protected] but getting an automated response. Does anyone under the same situation and what we can do to know the case situation.

Hi All,

I attended my h1 stamping interview on July 30. Officer asked basic questions like where do you work, job roles and responsibilities, salary etc. At the end of the interview he mentioned they expect to approve my visa but it will take longer time, around 10 days. He also mentioned that I will be contacted if they need more details for my case. He kept the passport and did not give any 221g.

I am not quite sure about what he means with expect to approve visa and why there will be 10 days delay. What could be the possible reasons behind this delay? Is there anyone else in the same boat?

I want to share experience of my wife attending VISA interview.

Originally, we had scheduled interview in the month of May but we were late to check into OFC and our slot got cancelled. One of the weirdest way to cancel a slot(our fault though). Then we rescheduled our interview to the new date in same place Kolkatta.
We are from Hyderabad but due to long waiting in Hyderabad consulate, we have to opt the minimal time which is Kolkatta.

OFC was in Hyderabad
Visa interview is in Kolkatta

Slot at 09:00 AM, but security allowed in at 08:15AM only.

VO and candidate had a formal greetings to each other.

VO: Passport, I-797, Marriage Certificate, Photo Album
VO: When did you get married
VO: When and how did you meet your spouse
VO: How long have guys were together
VO: Does your husband work if so location
VO looked at each and every photo in the album(Since we are from Hyderabad, she may have seen the pictures different from local Kolkatta tradition)

VO: Approved!!

Checked the status on next day: In final processing status
Checked the status on 07/30: Passport is ready for picking up in Hyderabad OFC office(opted to deliver to the OFC location)

I want to share my H1B Drop Box Experience at Hyderabad consulate. My previous H1B is also drop box and there is no change in my profile so I am qualified for drop box this time too and my company lawyer mentioned that 95% they will be calling for the interview and be prepared for it.

29th July 2019 => Submitted my documents during morning time and status of DS160 shows case created.

30th July 2019 => Morning Time status DS160 "Application Received" and status changed to "Administrative Processing" around 3pm.

31st July 2019 => Status changed to "Issued" around 1:30pm.

I am waiting for my passport and I hope I got Visa stamped.
