Visa approved on 4/24 - L1 to H1 COS, first H1B stamping
Hi All

I had my first H1 stamping interview today , my visa got approved today 4/24 . The interviewer said to pick the passport in 3-5 days. I am working through a consultant in an EVC model. Client letter is very important.
I was asked following questions.

1) What do you do?
2) Who's your client?
Me : abc
Interviewer : Not heard of that client before
Interviewer : Who's your manager?
Interviewer : Show me your client letter ?
Interviewer : The person who has signed in Client letter is different than the manager you told.
Me: Explained her that the client process is that the client letter is issued from a different department.
Interviewer : Are you the only one from your employer working at this Client?
Me: Yes.
Interviewer : Your visa is approved.

All the best to all of you.
I was scared for my stamping because of all the recent H1 related negative news.
Just want to share my positive news to all you guys to motivate.
Also its all luck but we need to take the step and come out for stamping rather then avoiding stamping and missing all the important family time back home.

I have lost plenty of family time but I have learnt that visa is not worth missing your time with your family back home(India). May be you are thinking I am saying all this after my visa is approved but it is not the case. Speaking out the heart felt things.

H1B Stamping Matamoros, Mexico
Thanks Immi help and all the people who posted their Experiences. It really helped a lot and provided confidence in attending the Visa Interview.

1. Researched through Immihelp & Murthy and read all the Visa Experiences.
2. Took Mexico Visa as my previous US visa has expired.
3. Used Salvador Services at Matamoros. He is a good and a humble human being. No issues or Problems at all. Itinerary went as said and planned by Salvador.
4. There were 2 Families and 3 individuals through Salvador Services who attended Visa along with me and met 2 other Indians at the consulate who used Mark's Services.

Day 1:

ASC Finger Prints. At the ASC by 8;45 AM and finished it in 15 mins.

Day 2:

Consulate Interview:--> At the Consulate by 7;45 AM. Went in to the Consulate, Security Check and Passport and DS 160 Validation.
Asked to sit in the line. Called to the Counter.

Questions are pretty straight forward

Who's you employer?
What do you do?
Whats your salary?
Who's your Client?
Do you have an immigration petition (I-140) Approved?

Visa Approved! All the other people who attended their H1B interviews got their stamping successfully.

Picked up Passport at 3 PM.

POE: Simple and Straight. Cleared in 30 mins. People said it could take any where between 20 mins and 3 Hours.

Good Luck !!!

H1B stamping in Toronto
We had our interview today at Toronto. I was working on L1B from 2013 in USA and got selected for h1b in 2016 lottery in consular processing. So this is my first time h1b stamping.
Interviewer asked these docs & questions:-
I797 Petition
How long I have been living in USA
Designation
Total experience with my employer
My highest education degree
Marriage certificate and marriage date
Asked my wife whether she is working or not .

After that she told my visa is approved and will get in couple of days . I have seen a few 221gs, but didn't seem those for any h1b cases .

Thanks for all who shared their experience here in this forum .

First time H1b calgary stamping
yet another silent reader. thanks to everyones input - very helpful and reassuring.
To dispel the myth once and for all - it is possible to do first time H1b visa stamping in canada. The only caveat I guess is that majority of your education has to have been done in the US as was my case.
Currently on H1b for a couple years but hadn't travelled outside for first time stamping.
Got canadian visa in <1 month.
Border crossing was laid back. At embassy, you go through security and document check before your actual interview.
Interview for me was chill - only asked where I did my education and what I do currently.
I think I saw a girl and the guy before me got rejected though.
Said come back in 3-5 days to collect visa.

I was super stressed before because I wasn't 100% sure of first time stamping can be done in canada. But guess it can be - as long as majority of your degrees were from the US. This is just my opinion, not fact.

H1B Stamping Ottawa
Hi All,

I am planning for stamping from Ottawa(Canada) during first week of May. Have few queries, could you please help.

Let me give you a background.

My first H1B stamping is from India through one of the major IT companies, which expired end of last year. My extension is approved through same employer and now I want my H1B stamping to be done from Canada.

In DS-160 I have to give my employer address, should that be India employer as I am still India employee working on long term deputation on client site ?

Do i really need to be a FTE in US based company or consultant to get stamping from Canada, or being an India employee I can get my stamping done from Canada ?

How much is the risk involved in stamping from canada even though I have all required documents ?

Appreciate your help.
