I booked a gift to a graduated cousin for $50/-
Fees is included as it says on its website $3/-

Date of booking 9/05/06
Exchange rate as it mentions is 45.23/USD
 (depends on the date of actual exchange)

Converted Demand Draft sect amount Rs. 1,984/-

NOTES:
In the past seven days the dollar exchange rate mentioned on its site was checked and is between Rs 45.24 to 45.35 per USD.

Now the actual rate I received is 1984/47USD = 42.21 per dollar.

THe readers will konw why I left remit2india.com
I would rather give this money to poor than these fake people doing business.

I sent 1000$ twice thru money2india, it was successful, and they took 0.50 approx. for each dollar, the money is sent in 5 days..

On Aug 12th 2006,I initiated a transaction and there was some minor problem ,which I promptly brought to their notice and did the NECESSARY modification, but as of today ,3rd Sep. ,2006 ,after sending NINE EMAILS and unlimited number of unsuccessful attempts to talk with someone on their toll free number in USA, the work is STILL PENDING ! As correctly observed by few people on other forums as well they just don't bother to reply the emails.
  BELIEVE ME FRIENDS, I HAVE TRANSFERRED MONEY USING WELLs FARGO AND NO ORDINARY BANK CAN GIVE YOU BETTER CONVERSION RATES AND SERVICE .

Has anyone sent money through personal checks to india. (I know it takes a long time but thats ok for me)

Do banks consider RBI exchange rates for conversion ? I had contacted Karnataka bank, bangalore and I was told 0.3% commission (ser vice fee I guess.) + 350rs for check handling.

Citibank says no processing charge at all. But they have their own conversion rates.

Any experiences with personal checks and rates, please post them. highly appreciated.

i am yet another dissatisfied customer of remit2india.

i transferred money 2 weeks back and it has not been credited to the beneficiary.

does any one of you have had similar experiences with remit2india. did they credit the money later ?

i want to take legal action against them. please let me know what needs to be done. can we take action against them in India ?

I think quickremit from HDFC bank is a good service with respect to exchange rates they offer. Normally 40 paise lower than RBI exchange rates for USD, higher than icicibank and also sbi exchange rates. You should use ACH for money transfers. DD's are not the best way. Also transfer the money on monday, so that there is no weekends in between. They take 4 working days to transfer money. The exchange rate on the day of transfer is what is applicable. You might get a higher rate or a lower rate.

Yes this is absulutely true! I`m head of Remit2india slaes . Anf we have come up witha stupendus offer, wherein you remit money thru us and alucky winner get a chance to **** my ass. Let me tell you about my **** it is pleasure ripping it. zAtleast my customers say this.

i have aproblem with my online accounts registered with quick remit and for past 2 weeks i am just dialing cutsimer care number and no one is picking up the phone. I sent mails also i just got a reply once saying call to customer care. BUt i dont know if customer care is shut down or what as i am unable to reach anyone eitehr by phone or by Talisma chat. I dont know whom to go to get my problem resolved. Can anyone tell me a how can reach manager in this division.

i dont know how to explain my experience with
 remit2india. generally i used to read a lot before sending money or buying something but here i beleived them as they belongs to times group. in a month time i am one of the frustrated customer of them. i have done
 2 transactions 1 month back and still its going.
 Even if to Bhubaneswar they are saying they dont have courier service and registered post goes for last 1
 month!!! can you beleive it!! they are not replying mails. when u call they are not asking
 anything..reply "it will reach"!!! i am so frustrated that i want to do something so that other ppl wont face the same problem. i have reffered 5 friends as well but no Rs500. i will relaxed if the money reaches to my home..i am not going to use this service anymore but
at least i need the money should reach. say me what to do. ICICI is best..no problem for last 1 year..

ICICI is worst bank I have even come across in my life.

Please avoid this bank by all means. I can site many bad experiences with this bank. If you want to loose your money, time, energy please avoid this bank. This is final word. they may close down anytime. Very risky bank.

type "icici sucks" in google and you can come across tonnes of horrible stories about ICICI.
